The Great Big Plan 1

The Course : Content focused on tamil centered thought

What is a Tamil Centered Thought? : The ideas that stem from tamil/ local experience to the world. Everyday local experience is our tamil identity. Eg: Vilakku is seen as an integral part of tamil culture. Understanding globalisation through vilakku is Karu’s objective. Tamil has two faces : an identity and a language. Both have to be tackled.

Objectives for the identity:

  1. Increasing dependable knowledge of the Tamil community by bringing research based tamil thoughts into mainstream consumption through popculture, movies, books, edtech content.
  2. Contemporising Tamil identity: Bring it into the memory and imagination of the people. Like how Chinese are able to imagine their past, create stories with it and associate themselves to it presently. A TAMIL CULTURE OF THE PRESENT and not the past. So giving more resources to people to help collectively create our NAVANAGARIGAM. This also involves given a modern twist to old infrastructure like how temples where the economic centers of the past, now can temples be revived as meeting spaces? as event avenues? can available structures be put to better use that integrate present value with culturally rich resources and decently separate religion from culture
  3. Variety: Apart from only literature and history, economics, geography all are seen from TN perspective.

Objectives for the language: Every time I think of language, the belief that pops in my head is that, if there is a need people learn it, use it, change it. Language is an essential tool. All we have to do is create a need for it.

  1. Increasing the available vocabulary of words to expand our ability to express nuanced thoughts in tamil.
  2. Increasing the volume of original tamil thoughts of everyday life and research works to reduce diglossia and integrate speaking and writing
  3. Distinguishing the current structure of the language for computer input (https://thefederal.com/the-federal-special/tamil-artificial-intelligence-ai-english-llm-192955)
  4. Increasing its presence as a foreign language for study (https://learnmarathiwithkaushik.com/)
  5. Connecting global languages directly to tamil than through english

The Structure
